📖 How to Play Tile Rummy

Objective

Be the first player to empty your rack by placing numbered tiles into neat sets on the shared table.

How to Play

Each player starts with 14 private tiles. A group is three or four tiles with the same number in different colors. A run is three or more consecutive numbers in one color. On your first play, the tiles you place must add up to at least 30 points. After that, you may add to table sets or carefully rearrange table tiles, but every set must still be legal when your move is done. If you cannot play, draw one tile and pass.

How to Win

The first player with an empty rack wins. Everyone else counts the points left in their rack, and those points score against them.

Tips

Sort your rack to spot runs, save flexible middle numbers, and look for four-tile table sets that can spare one tile for a clever rearrangement. Big opening melds are exciting, but keeping a backup run can save your next turn.
