Cribbage is a two-player card race to 121 points. You score by making neat card patterns, moving your peg along the track, and counting carefully.
Each round, both players get six cards and choose two to place in the dealer's crib. A starter card is cut, then pegging begins. Players take turns laying one card at a time without making the running total go over 31. Cards count their number, face cards count 10, and aces count 1.
During pegging, score points for reaching 15 or 31, making pairs, building runs, and earning go. After pegging, count each hand plus the starter, then the dealer counts the crib. First to 121 wins right away.
Keep cards that can make fifteens, pairs, and runs together. If it is your crib, throw helpful cards into it; if it is not, be stingy. In pegging, watch the total and avoid giving your opponent an easy 15 or 31.
